Moodubelle, Dec 23: St. Lawrence English Medium School, Moodubelle, celebrated Christmas with great joy and festive fervour on the school campus. The celebration began with a formal programme that reflected the true spirit of Christmas—love, peace, and goodwill.
The programme commenced with an introduction followed by a prayer service, invoking God’s blessings. The dignitaries President Rev. Fr. George Thomas Dsouza , Chief guest Mr. Raymond Dsouza , Guest of Honour Mrs. Sarah Dsouza, Administrator CA Pritish Burton Dsa , PTA President Mrs. Surekha were ceremoniously escorted to the dais by the Headmistress Sandra Lucica Lobo .


A warm welcome address by the Headmistress, Mrs. Sandra Lobo, set the tone for the celebration. Floral welcomes were extended to the dignitaries as a mark of respect.

The Chief Guest, Mr. Raymond Kishore D’Souza, and the Guest of Honour, Mrs. Sarah D’Souza, were formally introduced and addressed the gathering. In his Christmas message, Mr. Raymond Kishore D’Souza encouraged students to respect everyone and reminded them that failure is a stepping stone to success. He motivated them to work hard, dream big, and remain humble, wishing that love, kindness, and peace stay with them always.

In her address, Mrs. Sarah D’Souza emphasized that Christmas is not merely a celebration but a reminder to practice kindness, gratitude, and good character in everyday life. She highlighted the importance of character building and encouraged students to be disciplined, hardworking, and sincere, urging them never to stop believing in themselves.

The Administrator, CA Pritish Burton D’Sa, explained the true meaning of Christmas as the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. He advised students to respect their parents, and stay rooted in their values and traditions.

The President of the programme Rev. Fr. George Thomas D’Souza, spoke about the true essence of Christmas and urged students to respect everyone. He encouraged them to recognize and nurture their talents and emphasized the importance of love and forgiveness in spreading peace and harmony in society.

Following the formal programme, students presented a variety of cultural performances, including songs, dances, skits, and Christmas-themed acts. These vibrant performances showcased the talents of the students and added colour and joy to the celebration.
The programme also included a prize distribution ceremony, honouring students who excelled in competitions conducted in connection with the Christmas celebrations, as well as winners of the zonal-level Prathiba Karanji.

The sponsor of the Christmas cake, sweets, and juice, Mrs. Preethi  Sequeira, was honoured for the generous contribution. Mr. Oliver Quadras, a proud donor of the school, was also honoured. In his address, he encouraged students to be humble, respectable, and desirable individuals, extending his Christmas wishes to all.

The celebration was graced by the presence of Mr. Dolphy Menezes, Mr. Oliver Quadras, members of the Management Committee—Mr. Joel D’Sa, Mr. Ivan Menezes, and Mrs. Precilla Lobo, along with parents, teachers, and students, whose enthusiastic participation added charm to the event.

As a token of gratitude, mementos were presented to the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour. The programme concluded with a sincere vote of thanks by Ms. Ridhi of Grade 7, expressing appreciation to all who contributed to the success of the celebration.

After the formal programme, cultural programmes were presented by the students, showcasing their talents through carols, dance and Christmas tableau which added colour and joy to the celebration.



The cultural programme concluded with a delightful Santa Claus dance performance. The programme was gracefully compered by Ekta Nayak and Ashvita Lobo, students of Class 10.
